John Mugabi, also known as "The Beast," is a former professional boxer from Uganda. He was born on March 4, 1960 in Kampala, Uganda. Mugabi competed in the light-middleweight, middleweight, and super-middleweight divisions during his career.

Mugabi had a successful amateur career, winning a bronze medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. He turned professional in 1980 and quickly made a name for himself with his powerful knockout victories. He had a record of 26 wins, 0 losses, and 26 knockouts before suffering his first defeat in a world title fight against Marvin Hagler in 1986.

Throughout his career, Mugabi fought some of the top names in boxing, including Roberto Duran, Frank Fletcher, and Sugar Ray Leonard. He retired from boxing in 1991 with a record of 42 wins, 7 losses, and 39 knockouts.
